Quote It Community Standards

The Quote It Community Standards explain what is and is not allowed on the Quote It website and apps. They apply to profiles, job posts, quotes, messages, the Directory, Deals, Promotions, ratings, reviews and other user content. Treat others respectfully, provide accurate information and protect privacy.

Adult Nudity and Sexual Activity
GENUINE DEALS AND PROMOTIONS
Promote appropriate services through the Deals and Promotions features. Deals must be genuine and honoured under their advertised terms while the post is active. State the included work, service area, attainable price, availability, restrictions and booking or redemption deadline clearly. Update or remove unavailable offers promptly and honour agreements already made.
Do not inflate a regular price to invent a discount, hide mandatory charges, advertise an unavailable starting price, use bait-and-switch offers or make false scarcity or countdown claims. Keep support for savings claims. Include mandatory fixed non-governmental fees in the advertised price and explain taxes and variable charges. A promotion does not need to claim a discount.
Deals and promotion posts expire after 24 days. You may bump a promotion no more than once every 24 hours. Do not use duplicate posts or accounts to bypass these limits. Quote It may remove deals and promotions at any time, subject to applicable law. Removal or expiry does not cancel a provider’s existing commitments to clients.
ACCURATE PROFILES AND CREDENTIALS
Use accurate business details, service areas, insurance and qualifications. Publish only credentials and work examples you are entitled to use. Keep documents and claims current and remove expired or unsupported credentials. Do not imply that a badge guarantees workmanship, safety, insurance coverage for a particular job or Quote It’s endorsement. Clearly identify stock or illustrative images.
Public provider badges include Liability certification, Workers comp, Trade certificate and ID Verified. Provider-supplied insurance and trade documents are not independently verified by Quote It. Clients should check current coverage and qualifications before hiring. ID Verified concerns the identity-verification process only; it is not a background check or a guarantee of workmanship.
The Directory’s Responds Quickly indicator currently means that the provider logged into the app within the last 24 hours and receives priority at the top of the Directory. It does not measure reply speed or guarantee availability or a response.
AUTHORIZED PUBLIC CONTENT AND PRIVACY
You may publish authorized business information, map location, work examples, Deals, Promotions, ratings, reviews and public badges through the designated features. This content is public user-generated content and may be used by Quote It for advertising under the Terms and Privacy Policy. Obtain permission for identifiable clients and other people in work photos.
Do not expose another person’s private phone number, home address, identity document, financial information or security credentials. Remove unnecessary sensitive details from material intended for public display.
Only your ID Verified badge is public. The identity document submitted through the verification process is private. Do not publish identity-document images, document numbers or other sensitive verification details in profiles, deals, promotions or public messages.
RESPECTFUL CONTACT
Use Deals, Directory messages and Contact Now only for the relevant inquiry, offer or job. A paid connection does not authorize harassment, reselling contact details or unrelated marketing. Respect blocks, stop unwanted contact when asked and do not evade contact-access controls.
Clients choose Faster (calls and quotes) or Standard (quotes only). Contact Now phone access is available only for an eligible Faster job after the provider has submitted a quote and chosen the feature. Do not pressure a client to change their contact preference.
AUTHENTIC REVIEWS AND FAIR USE
Reviews must describe genuine first-hand experiences. Do not create fabricated reviews, sham jobs, undisclosed connected-party reviews or false completion records. Do not reward only positive reviews, condition a refund on removing an honest review or pressure someone to change a rating. Clearly disclose any permitted incentive or material connection.
Do not misstate your region, create multiple accounts for repeated bonuses, manipulate rankings or manufacture chargeable connections. Legitimate direct payment for professional work is permitted; evasion of Platform fees is not.
REPORTING AND ENFORCEMENT
Report abuse using an available Report feature or contact support@quoteit.ca. Quote It may remove content, restrict visibility or features, or suspend or terminate Accounts for violations, subject to applicable law. You may contact support to request review of an enforcement decision.
