SMS Terms and Conditions

Quote It Inc. (“Quote It,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides these SMS Terms and Conditions governing text messages sent by Quote It or its messaging service providers.

Quote It operates two distinct types of SMS messaging:

  1. Optional Quote It SMS Alerts

  2. Phone-number verification messages and one-time passwords

1. Optional Quote It SMS Alerts

Service Providers may voluntarily opt in through the Quote It mobile application to receive recurring SMS alerts.

These messages may include:

  • New local job or lead alerts

  • New messages from clients through the Service Provider Directory

  • New client messages concerning a Service Provider’s posted deal

  • Other notifications directly related to the Service Provider’s use of Quote It

SMS Alerts are optional and are not required to create an account, complete a profile, verify a phone number or otherwise use the Quote It platform.

Users must actively enable SMS Alerts through a separate consent option in the Quote It application. The consent option is not selected by default.

Message frequency varies depending on account activity, location, services selected and use of the Quote It platform. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting Out of Optional SMS Alerts

You may unsubscribe from optional SMS Alerts at any time by replying STOP to an alert message.

After you reply STOP, you may receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. Quote It will then stop sending optional SMS Alerts to that number through the applicable messaging program.

You may re-enroll through the SMS notification settings in the Quote It application.

Unsubscribing from optional SMS Alerts does not:

  • Deactivate your Quote It account

  • Remove your verified-phone status

  • Prevent you from using non-SMS features

  • Automatically unsubscribe you from separately requested phone-verification messages

2. Phone Verification and One-Time Passwords

Quote It may require users to verify a valid mobile phone number before using certain features, including posting Service Requests, submitting Quotes or completing security-related account actions.

When you initiate a phone-verification action, Quote It may send a one-time password or verification code to the mobile number you provide.

Before a verification code is sent, the Quote It application will notify you that an SMS verification message will be delivered. By providing your number and requesting the verification code, you consent to receive the requested verification message.

Phone-verification messages are separate from optional Quote It SMS Alerts. Requesting a verification code does not enroll you in recurring lead alerts, Directory alerts, deal-message alerts or promotional messages.

If you choose not to receive a required verification message, you may be unable to complete the verification process or access features that require a verified phone number.

Twilio requires consent to be obtained and documented before sending OTP messages through Verify, so this disclosure should also appear directly on the app screen where the user requests the code—not only in these Terms.

Costs

Quote It does not charge a separate fee for sending SMS messages. However, message and data rates may apply depending on your wireless carrier and mobile plan.

Message Delivery

SMS delivery is subject to wireless-network availability and carrier participation. Quote It is not responsible for delayed, undelivered or misdirected messages caused by wireless carriers, network conditions, inactive numbers or circumstances outside Quote It’s reasonable control.

Eligibility

By enrolling in optional Quote It SMS Alerts or requesting a phone-verification message, you represent that:

  • You are at least 18 years old

  • You are the subscriber for the mobile number provided or are authorized to use it

  • The information you provide is accurate and current

Privacy

Your use of Quote It SMS services is also governed by the Quote It Privacy Policy.

Quote It’s Privacy Policy should separately state that mobile numbers, SMS consent records and opt-in information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Twilio specifically reviews the public Privacy Policy for this disclosure.

Changes to These Terms

Quote It may update these SMS Terms from time to time. Any changes will become effective when the revised SMS Terms are posted. Changes will not remove your right to unsubscribe from optional SMS Alerts.
